About Us

There are a few phrases that I have always kept in the back of my mind. One was with Lionel Richie, during an interview he said “it is hard to write love songs going through a divorce.” (I am not sure why but that always stuck in my head). Another one is Steve O talking about his addictions. He said “you never really beat an addiction, you learn to coexist with it.” It was so prolific to me when I heard it. And the last one was a shirt I saw which describes this perfectly. As you will notice, we want to have fun. We have a terrific sense of humor. It is tremendous!

perfectly.

Our Mission Statement – To simply put it, to Prove that a USA Custom Made Guitar doesn’t have to cost $5000. With our commitment to quality, research, knowledge and technology, we can provide a higher quality instrument than a comparable priced off the rack guitar. We are looking to inspire.

Bruno Guitar Works is the brain child of Josh Bruno and Brian Grady.

We took a picture of us at Johnstown Town Hall. I am in the Shorts. Lucas took the photo for us.

Coming this week, full bios for both Josh and Brian. But here is a short short story of how things started.

Josh and I met working at a music retailer in 2016 and remained friends ever since. Josh has been my go to pro set up engineer ever since.

Over the years Josh and I have collaborated on several different projects and spent countless Tuesday nights at Demarco’s hashing out ideas, schematics, its always sunny in Philadelphia, how much we think the big boy guitars shouldn’t pass quality inspections for the 3k price tags, booshie metal flake, super woods and super foods, always talking how we need to try to save music because lately we haven’t been hearing anything all to inspiring and the lack of guitar and bass (the instrument) in today’s music popular music.

Early this year I saw a video from a YouTube influencer in the guitar realm that had one of his guitars repainted and I went bat crap crazy about this finish. I went as far as to track down everyone involved in the project, including the paint manufacturer which at the moment will be our only supply because (I believe this quality is above all, again just an opinion.) Josh and I had talked about maybe making some of these bodies for friends and to maybe put on a website for sale.

This opened the flood gates. We had idea, after idea, after idea for guitar after guitar after…you get the idea. We are not intending to try to change the course of guitar but we continually talk about the magic of the 80s and 90s for some of the best built guitars to grace guitarists hands.

We have our own workshop in Fort Johnson, New York. We work at this all week long with a bulk of work being done on the weekends.

The point of this venture is to bring back some of that magic. We wanted to create an incredible experience for the player, make the experience for them truly unique and memorable. We have taken some of the things we think makes guitar just a little bit better and we are applying them to what we make and offer.

For now you can reach us through email.
